Why world of warcraft is bad

I was more excited for Shadowlands purely for the storey more than anything and have not been disappointed. I do the usual end game stuff, keys in the plus range, raids, pvp.

However, when none of that is doing it for me, I am happy just to get into the world. Knowing as much about the lore, having read every book, it just makes it more fun I guess.. Played wiw for 12 yrs. Then again guild disipated. Players paid to transfer servers. I had already left and started over once and still never managed to regain some rare drops or achievments.

I will not do that again. Thats what nailed the coffin shut and i have notcplayed since. Shadwlands have not bought. Friend bought previous expansion though i never once logged in to play it.

Bought the one before that but only played 2 months. I did have 5x 60day timecards but traded 1 and used 2 to play classic. Fun memories but i am waiting on the next gen mmo to come along now and itchas to be good and obviously next gen. Notca wannabe wow clonecthat dies 6mths after release. Filthy casual! All grinds are finite.

Get your legendary and get out to do whatever you want. Mythic plus, raids, pvp, your path to gearing is your choice. A nice article that says nothing new. It has been this way since vanilla. Curious, do you enjoy the actual mechanics? When I try and get new people to play the first thing they complain about it how outdated it is! One thing for sure that you have wrong is that its not a race to unlock all of the renown, most are just cosmetic. Have a friend who just switched covenants last week and has caught up significantly.

Maybe you are just looking at it the wrong way? Or maybe you have reached a point in which you are burnt out from WoW. Which happens, but Shadowlands has started on a good note in my opinion.

I think I touched on it, but I agree, Shadowlands is a decent expansion that does a good job of getting the balances right. I have fun playing it. I like the new systems. I played wow back during the initial release and honestly it was a slog. Still is. I like the new stuff they added since classic.

Just an FYI, that Southpark pic is an actual person who passed away VERY recently, I think anyone who knew him I thought everyone who played wow did would appreciate a bit more respect right now. Not what I was referring to here but it was very sad nonetheless. Methinks you proved that not everyone has grown up. How dare you not slobber dogmatically in worship instead of writing a personal perspective?

I have played WoW since it came out. My daughter and son also played. They had plenty of freinds on the game and I even went for a weekend away with my daughter and we had a good time irl. But I was never a joiner so I love to wander around without having to turn up!

As an example — Hunters used to be quite tricky. If the enemy got to close you had to use a melee weapon as the bow was for range. You also had to gain weapon skills for each weapon. And my favorite — arrows — why ditch those. So if you are creating a new race character such as a viid elf. They start at lvl 10 and immediately get sent to do all the quests in Battle for Azeroth. Did they not check anything when the re-vamped the levels? Blizzard has no right to remove the druid speed bonus or to limit cyclone.

Neither of those things is overpowered and many druids rely on them in PVP. For example, if a druid respecs out of feral and into resto then he or she must start getting a restoration PVP set even if they already have a full feral PVP set.

Why not just let the player exchange the armor pieces right at the vendor? Why make a hybrid class player have to start all the way from scratch to get a full set even though he has already spent the time getting a full set?

Hybrids should not be forced to get three different armor sets just to play the spec of their choice. Moonkins are druids that can turn into fat, space-chickens with high armor, and spell-based DPS. In the past, Moonkins have suffered numerous indignities and despite demonstrating vast amounts of patience, are once again being ignored by Blizzard in favor of flashier and more vocal classes like warriors, rogues, and warlocks.

Published 27 July. While we'd argue it's possible to craft a purely positive experience in this game, it's really important to understand what this game is. It's pure, undiluted escapism. Just about anything you can imagine in a fantasy setting can be found here. The game is easy and enabling; it's easy to learn, to progress, to do one more thing. You can fly and explore; you can grow food, find wealth, build a home, contribute to a group and fight for a cause.

Like any escapism, real life problems get forgotten and left unsolved. Other forms of escapism end. Books and TV shows finish. Most computer games increase difficulty until the player eventually can't keep playing.

But a game with a vast world and layered stories to explore has no obvious signal to say Stop Playing Now. How many of us disconnect from the TV half way through the first program we watch simply because we decide we're wasting time? When a program isn't engaging enough to keep it's viewers that's usually considered bad writing, or bad production.

So what happens when it's completely engaging, and it never ends? Still, disengaging from entertainment might be the responsibility of the consumer, rather than the producer, and philosophy does not a review make. So a few hard facts are worth being aware of, if you're wanting to know if someone should play this unsupervised. Which is to say it's often not. But characters can also undress and play the game in their underwear.

It makes no sense and might not be a great gender role model, but has been a staple in fantasy art for many years. It can't be won. It's impossible to 'see everything'. There will always be something more to do.

In a compelling, shiny world where you're the hero, you might want to, too. So based purely on content and player interaction, it's easy to say that this game requires a certain minimum amount of maturity to process. It's also worth knowing it can be a safe and interesting place for younger players too, with a little supervision. Written by Anonymous January 22, NOT for kids This game is packed with violence. It has language and sex and drugs, ,smoking ,drinking and blood.

Pre teens should be able to handle it. Adult Written by ese1 December 26, Adult Written by Nicklausse May 31, If you're going to play WOW with your child then it can be appropriate for ages nine and up. We play with our two ages 9 and The 9-year-old mainly likes to create characters and fiddle around in the newbie areas, and our year-old can run instances well.

You do this by right clicking the chat bubble at the left side of the interface then unchecking the appropriate boxes. There are even user-created addons to hide the chat box or fling it off the screen. We double disable the chat in this way. Look up how. It's all over Google different ways to do this. Also, be aware you have to do it for each character. It's not account-wide.

Also, we have their passwords and plan to always have their passwords. She who wields the credit card wields the passwords. This is work having to log them in and supervise every time, but it's work well worth it. They'll play these things when they're older whether we guide them on it or not. Parental guidance is definitely in order. Parent Written by amyr73 August 9, Get "Hooked on WOW and you'll get hooked on reading!

In the beginning, I also thought that it would not be good for him to play so much. However, before he started playing WOW, he had a lot of issues with reading and comprehension in school and was even held back twice.

Reading was boring to him and he could not seem to stay interested enough in what he was reading. About 6 months after he started playing WOW, my son started doing better in school.
