What kind of goldfish does walmart sell

I totally agree. Leave that to the pet store who know what they are doing, and care about the well being of their fish. We also saw at least 5 Oscars in yet another tiny tank with numerous other fish. Oscars get huge, and im sure the poor people trying to make ends meet that work there have no idea on proper care or conditions to school the customers to be sure they are properly aware of the needs of these fish.

Walmart cant possibly make a high profit margin on these fish. There is 6 Walmarts within a few mile radius from my house and not ONE has any ability to take care of a live being.

Stop your cruelty I hope you burn. Wal-Mart kills fish just to make a dollar please help to make wal-mart stop selling any live animals , Fish in poor conditions , fish in there own waste like the poor bettas in the cups with nasty low water left to die in a damn cup!

I once bought a betta from that and there was no price tag on the cup, or a price code of any kind. So the lady at the register kept flipping the cup upside down and ever which way, trying to find a price. I almost flipped out and asked the lady to please stop. Poor fish! To top it off, she looked at me like I was in the wrong. Awful, awful, awful!!!

Now we just need to work on walmart selling the right supplies as far as getting rid of those stupid betta cubes or fish bowls that are waaaay to small for any fish. Walmart stop selling live fish calls for a celebration!!!!!! I went to wal Mart on Friday and seen a few dead fish and I saved another a week ago that has body rot.

They are kept in deplorable conditions that no living creature should have to endure. I complained to corporate FOUR times over the course of three years. More recently, I complained to three different managers. No one at my local store know anything about fish. Two of the pet managers told me that they had no knowledge of fish husbandry. The assistant manager told me that he, nor anyone else working there has been trained in proper care of these animals.

Despite being told a month ago that my store would considerably cut back on stocking right after my 3rd complaint to corporate , it never happened. To be perfectly honest, I wanted to punch this dude in the face for how rude he was to me throughout the whole conversation. I tried to show him pictures that were taken 3 days prior of fish that were dead and still in the aquarium, left decaying.

I tried to show him the fish inflicted with ick and a fish with an ulcerated sore that developed a severe fungal infection on top of it, but he refused to even look into the tanks or hear what I was saying. They do it so very poorly. At times, their tanks are so full the fish have hardly enough room to hover While fancies may be deformed in a way, that doesn't mean that healthy specimens can't live happily for years.

They didn't ask to be bred; they were adapted for our enjoyment and we have a responsibility to provide the best care that we possibly can. I think the way goldfish feeders are raised and cared for is horrific.. Like that prepackaged abused chicken we all eat from the grocery store. It would be nice if stores doing fish care had some regulations about staff training requirements and water maintenance guidelines.

It makes me angry that the goldfish tanks at big box stores never are built to handle the ammonia levels. HI goldfish4life: This is all very sad. We all keep fish because we like them and it hurts when we see their lives needlessly thrown away as though they were garbage.

I showed him how the Betta 's fins were rotting off in their cups and how the water was so thick with rotten food that it was negatively affecting their bottom line. No one is going to purchase a fish they can't see. I also showed him the dead fish that were thrown in the sink.

He seemed surprised and interested. I'm not sure anything came of it, though the Betta cups did seem cleaner the next time I went. Like other people, I've come to avoid the fish aisles at Walmart. I feel your pain. I showed him how the Betta's fins were rotting off in their cups and how the water was so thick with rotten food that it was negatively affecting their bottom line. So the manager did do something? Similar Aquarium Threads.

The quality issues of Walmart fish extends to both fresh seafood in the refrigerated section and frozen fish in the freezer aisle.

Walmart does indeed sell various types of live bait at its stores including red worms, green worms, nightcrawlers, crickets, and dillies. Based on the rules above, the goldfish tank size we recommend for two goldfish is: 42 gallons for two Common goldfish. Many juvenile goldfish will turn white slowly during the first couple of years of life as they grow in size. On the opposite side of the spectrum, you might notice your fish going white as they get older.

Water is the next problem. Putting a goldfish in chlorinated tap water, bottled or distilled water, or water that is too acidic or alkaline, can be deadly, Ponzio said. Ponzio recommends buying a solution at a pet store that removes chlorine, adds nutrients and minerals, or measures acidity.

The longest lived of all the popular freshwater fish is the goldfish. If provided proper feeding and a clean, healthy environment, these fish can live up to 15 years. The oldest reported goldfish actually lived into his 30s. Most fish do use air to inflate and deflate their bladder to maintain buoyancy which is expelled either through their mouth or gills which can be mistaken for a fart.

Point being — No farts. They offer the best shopping experience possible for quality freshwater and pond fish, marine fish, corals, live rock, invertebrates and live plants.
